We are Kristian and Benjamin – father and son aged 52 and 17 – and together we founded this fan club. We live in the city of Aabenraa, located in the southern part of Denmark. Both of us are drummers, and we met Opeth on several occasions. Kristian co-founded and played the drums in Disaster Area, a Danish death metal band established in the beginning of the 90ties (RIP). We are both dedicated metal fans, we write for the Danish metal magazine Metalized, and we are very determined to make this fan club big, efficient and visible to the world. But we can’t accomplish this alone. We need your help! So, please, be active, spread the word and engage in this website as much as possible. If you have any ideas you’d like to share, do not hesitate to contact us. This site is made in cooperation with Daniel Henriksen who is responsible for the technical details. We both enjoy attending concerts – either in connection with interviewing bands for Metalized, if we are reviewing concerts, or simply just because. For example, check out this article (in danish) published in the Danish newspaper JyskeVestkysten about our trip to Wacken in 2019 where we met Fredrik backstage, chatting with him about various issues – among other things this fan club.
For quite a while it has been our dream to establish a Danish Opeth fan club. A space that provides Opeth fans with the opportunity of meeting and exchanging musical experiences, getting in touch with other fans. A site that offers unique recordings, exclusively created for members of the fan club. We are currently working on closing discount deals with Omerch, the vendors of the official Opeth merchandise, and also to launch a special Opeth FC Denmark T-shirt for members. With time, we would like our fan club to cover the whole of Scandinavia/worldwide.
Our goal is to be as active as possible, also when it comes to producing special videos. We will do our best efforts to create unique recordings with the bands when they visit either northern Germany or Denmark.
Become a member of Opeth FC Denmark for a small annual fee of Dkk 50 (currency converter available at our registration site). The fee covers the running costs of this web site and will ensure unique member experiences, such as special merch, video recordings and so on.
